IGN: Shitcocks
Suggestion: Re-enable creeper blasts complete with block destruction, player damage, etc.
Why?: Creepers are part of the game. You should seek out and tame cats to ward them off. You should value Blast Protection enchantments. There should be a sense of accomplishment when you get a music disc after successfully kiting a dying creeper into the path of a skeleton's arrow. You should worry about creeper-proofing your base built out of diamond blocks. And you should definitely panic if you're mining and you hear that familiar "SSSSsss" behind you.
But creepers never explode. Cats serve no practical purpose. Blast Protection is mostly pointless. Music discs are overwhelmingly easy to get, and finding a creeper really only means free gunpowder and XP with zero effort.
I should disclaim that aside from this server, pretty much all of my experience on public minecraft servers has been on Amish Paradise: www.amishsmp.net/. On Amish Paradise, the experience was "hardcore" in the truest sense. You die for any reason, you get banned for a week. It made Minecraft interesting in a totally unique way, putting fear back into the game and creating some incredibly intense situations.
There is a sign at spawn saying the server is "Hardcore". I am resentful of such a claim. I am certainly not suggesting introducing a deathban, but I am suggesting it is folly for a server called "Creeper Community" to describe itself as "hardcore" when its creepers are completely neutered.
I understand the desire to prevent creepers from exploding in towns and blowing up structures. That's fine. It's possible to configure creepers to not damage protected areas like that. That shouldn't apply to places like the wild, though.
At the very least, they should do player damage while not destroying any blocks.
